02Pricing tiers

Where your job lands.

Three bands cover the full spread we see. Most jobs land in the typical band — bigger or smaller jobs sit either side.

01

Smaller jobs

$300–$500

Bottom 25% of jobs we quote — straightforward scope, easy access, fewer line items.

02

Typical

$500–$1,400

Middle 50% of completed jobs — most quotes land here.

03

Larger jobs

$1,400–$2,000

Top 25% — bigger scope, harder access, multiple complications stacked together.

03What drives the price

Where the spread comes from.

Each entry below moves the median up or down. Your job lands somewhere on the curve based on how these stack.

01

Time of day

Standard business-hours callouts are cheaper than after-hours, weekend, or public-holiday call-outs. We quote the rate transparently when you call.

02

Fault complexity

Tripped RCD that just needs resetting and a quick check is the bottom of the range. Tracing an intermittent fault through old wiring or burnt-out neutrals takes 2–4 hours.

03

Parts and components

If we need to replace a circuit breaker, RCD, or fitting on the spot, parts are added to the invoice transparently with no markup-plus games.

04

Make-safe vs full repair

For complex faults we can make-safe (isolate the affected circuit, restore the rest) and quote a full repair as a follow-up — often cheaper than rushing the diagnosis under pressure.

INCLUDED
  1. +01After-hours phone triage to confirm urgency before dispatch
  2. +02On-site response typically within 1–2 hours for urgent faults
  3. +03Make-safe work to isolate the fault and restore power where possible
  4. +04Full diagnostic of the root cause, not just a symptom fix
  5. +05Temporary repair if a specialist part needs ordering
  6. +06Certificate of Electrical Safety lodged for any prescribed work

Most after-hours emergency calls land somewhere between a 30-minute reset and a 2-hour rectification — the spread above reflects that. The price you pay is the call-out plus time on-site plus any parts; we agree the rate over the phone before dispatching, so there's no surprise on the invoice.

What you're paying for at premium rates

After-hours rates exist to cover the cost of someone being available when nobody else is. What you get for them is a real human answering the phone, a triage conversation so you know what you're dealing with before we even leave the depot, a licensed electrician on the road within 1–2 hours, and an honest call about whether the fault needs immediate work or whether make-safe plus a follow-up in business hours is the smarter spend.

What's covered on the night

Make-safe work to isolate the fault and restore power to unaffected circuits, full diagnostic of the root cause, and on-the-spot repair where parts are on the van. Larger remediation (board replacement, full rewiring, parts that need ordering) is quoted in writing during business hours — we don't pressure you into committing to bigger work mid-emergency. Certificate of Electrical Safety lodged for any prescribed work.
