Over the past decade Ringwood has changed more than almost any suburb in Melbourne's east. The Eastland redevelopment and the rebuilt station interchange turned the town centre into a genuine activity hub — apartment towers, the Realm library and civic precinct, mixed-use buildings, and a constant churn of retail and hospitality tenancies. The streets around it, though, still hold their established character: homes from the 1960s and 70s through to modern townhouses. On those, any cable fault or failed appliance can put a shock through anyone in the house, so a switchboard upgrade with RCBOs is the priority job, and most single-storey homes are a one-day turnaround including a consumer-mains check. From there it's the usual run of rewires, added circuits and lighting that older stock needs as households grow into it.
