Sublime Scandinavian Style
Concealed electrical and underfloor heating for a minimalist renovation

How it came together.
The Scandinavian aesthetic is defined by restraint — clean lines, natural materials, and an almost surgical absence of clutter. Achieving that look electrically means every cable, every fitting, and every switch needs to be considered. Millar Electrics delivered an installation that disappears into the design, leaving only the light and warmth it produces.
Concealed cabling
All cabling was run within the wall cavities and ceiling space before lining, with careful coordination with the carpenter to avoid any visible conduit runs. Outlet positions were agreed with the designer to ensure they fell in locations that could be hidden by furniture where possible. Flush-mounted GPOs in matte white were used throughout to complement the wall finishes.
Lighting
The lighting scheme used a combination of recessed LED panels in the main living areas and adjustable track lighting in the kitchen and study. All circuits were put onto trailing-edge dimmers for flicker-free control of the LED fittings. Pendant wiring over the dining table was run through the ceiling rose with concealed junction boxes in the roof space.
Underfloor heating
Electric underfloor heating mats were installed beneath the bathroom and ensuite tile floors, each on a dedicated circuit with a programmable thermostat. The circuits were tested for continuity before and after tiling to ensure no damage occurred during installation.
The result is a home where the warmth and light feel effortless — exactly as the owners intended.
