This renovation leaned heavily into natural materials — timber, stone, and large-format tiles — with a brief that called for warmth in every sense. Millar Electrics contributed the heating infrastructure and a lighting scheme designed to bring out the best in every surface.

Under-tile heating

Electric underfloor heating mats were installed beneath the bathroom floor tiling, the ensuite, and the laundry. Each zone was put on a dedicated circuit with a programmable floor-sensing thermostat, allowing each room to be independently controlled and scheduled. Pre-installation testing was conducted on the mats before tiling commenced, and post-tile testing confirmed zero damage during the install.

Kitchen and living lighting

The kitchen received a combination of recessed LED downlights over the prep areas and adjustable pendant fittings over the island, each on separate dimmable circuits. LED strip lighting was installed in the underside of floating shelving and inside the glass-fronted cabinetry, adding warmth to the evenings without overpowering the space.

Outdoor connections

External weatherproof GPOs were installed on the rear deck for outdoor entertaining, along with outdoor lighting on a separate circuit from the internal lighting. The external circuits were all protected by RCD at the switchboard.
